It is an Advanced Occupational Diploma registered at NQF Level 7 with 178 credits. Practise HRM advisory work before you advise a real organisation
The practical modules are practised in a simulated or real-world situation. Each one is built around the decisions an HRM advisor makes, from setting the strategic direction of the HR function to signing off the value of HR services.
Strategy and environment
Scan the internal and external environment, interpret the findings, implement and monitor HR strategies, design HR systems and policies, and identify and mitigate HR risks.
Talent, learning and growth
Facilitate workforce and talent plans, advise on recruitment, selection and onboarding, design remuneration packages, and oversee learning and development and organisational growth interventions.
Employment relations and HR services
Guide discipline and grievance handling, build relationships with organised labour and employees, oversee internal and outsourced HR services, and measure the value of HR services.
HR advisory tasks, from strategy to measurable results
- Analyse the internal and external environment using environmental scanning, SWOT and stakeholder analysis
- Develop action plans, risk assessments, costing and change management plans to implement HR strategies
- Design and develop HR systems, processes and policies that support HR and organisational objectives
- Use HR information technology and people analytics to monitor and report on the impact of human capital
- Identify HR risks, classify them, and create preventative actions, contingency actions and a risk management plan
- Facilitate workforce and talent management plans, job analysis, job evaluation and remuneration design
- Advise on recruitment, selection, induction, onboarding, transfers and terminations of staff
- Advise on learning and development, performance, recognition and reward, career, wellness and organisational development strategies
- Participate in discipline and grievance handling, and in forums, meetings and negotiations with organised labour
- Oversee internal and outsourced HR services, set KPAs and KPIs, and measure the return on HR services
- Advise on the ethical use of people analytics and on the professional practice standards that apply to HR
- Keep the HR risk management plan current, known and updated
